Typeface Design
Turret is a sharp, barbed, bold typeface inspired by Medieval Cathedral architecture. The form of this transitional typeface is an attempt of evoking the overwhelming experience of the antique churches. The organic edges are reminiscent of the rounded arches. The protruding spikes are to a rose window in a nave or siding of the structure. Turret is a display typeface with legibility best at 15 pts (point size) or more.
Turret was also featured in "What's New For Designers, January 2015" article which covers new mockups, typefaces, JavaScripts, and podcasts. It is written by, New England writer, Cameron Chapman.
Turret is free to download.
